BEEDON, a parish in the hundred of FAIRCROSS,
county of BERKS, 2 miles (S. W. by W.) from East
Hsley, containing 313 inhabitants. The living is a
discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Berks,
and diocese of Salisbury, rated in the king's books at
£6. 10. 10., endowed with £250 private benefaction,
and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Sir
J. Reade, Bart. The church is dedicated to St. Nicholas.
