BELSTEAD, a parish in the hundred of SAMFORD,
county of SUFFOLK, 3 miles (S. W. by W.) from
Ipswich, containing 255 inhabitants. The living is
a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk,
and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at
£7. 6, 0., and in the patronage of Ambrose Steward,
Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
