BELTON, a parish in the soke of GRANTS AM, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 2 miles (N. N. E.) from Grantham, containing 178 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £ 12. 3. 6§., and in the patronage of Earl Brownlow. The church is dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul. Here is an almshouse for six poor persons. Belton gives the title of baron to Earl Brownlow.
