BILLINGBOROUGH, a parish in the wapentake of AVELAND, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 3 miles (E.) from Folkingham, containing 745 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £ 6. 1. 8., and in the patronage of Earl Fortescue. The church, dedicated to St. Andrew, has a fine tower and spire, and displays chiefly the decorated style of English architecture. Mary Toller, in 1671, gave land producing about £25 per annum, for the endowment of a free school.
