BILLINGE (HIGHER-END), a township in that
part of the parish of WIGAN which is in the hundred
of WEST-DERBY, county palatine of LANCASTER, 5 miles
(W.S. W.) from Wigan, containing 670 inhabitants. A
school here is endowed with £20 per annum.
