BIRCHES, a township in that part of the parish of
GREAT-BUDWORTH which is in the hundred of NORTHWICH,
county palatine of CHESTER, 3 miles (E. S. E.)
from Northwich, containing 8 inhabitants. Mrs. Elizabeth
Dobson, about 1695, assigned an estate here in
trust for the education of two boys, one to be the
son of a counsellor, and the other the son of a divine
of the church of England.
