BIRCHOLT, a parish in the franchise and barony of BIRCHOLT, lathe of SHEPWAY, county of KENT, 4 miles (E. by S.) from Ashford, containing 33 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Canterbury, rated in the king's books at £2. 10. 10., and in the patronage of Lady Bankes. The church, now desecrated, was dedicated to St. Margaret.
