BISHOPSTROW, a parish in the hundred of WARMINSTER, county of WILTS, l mile (E. S.E.) from Warminster, containing 275 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Salisbury, rated in the king's books at £11. 10., and in the patronage of Sir J. D. Astley, Bart. The church is dedicated to St. Adelme. About the commencement of the present century, three urns, containing Roman brass coins, were dug up here.
