BONCHURCH, a parish in the liberty of EAST-MEDINA,
Isle of Wight division of the county of
SOUTHAMPTON, 10 miles (S. E. by S.) from Newport,
containing 122 inhabitants. The living is a discharged
rectory, with the perpetual curacy of Shanldin annexed,
in the archdeaconry and diocese of Winchester,- rated
in the Icing's books at £6. 15. 5., and in the patron^
age of Lord H. Seymour and J. Popham, Esq. The
church is dedicated to St. Boniface.
