BONNINGTON, a parish partly in the liberty of ROMNEY-MARSH, but chiefly in the hundred of STREET, lathe of SHEPWAY, county of KENT, 6 miles (S.E. by S.) from Ashford, containing 152 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Canterbury, rated in the king's books at £ 10. 12. 8., and in the patronage of T. Papillon, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Rumwald. The Grand Military, or the Shorncliff and Rye, canal crosses the parish.
