BOTTESFORD, a parish comprising the townships of Ashby and Burringham, and the hamlets of Holm and Yaddlethorpe, in the eastern division, and the township of Crosby, in the western division, of the wapentake of MANLEY, parts of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 8 miles (W.) from Glandford-Bridge, and containing 999 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, united in 1727 to the vicarage of Messingham, in the archdeaconry of Stow, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £10. The church is dedicated to St. Peter.
