BOXFORD, a parish in the hundred of FAIRCROSS
county of BERKS, 4 miles (N. W. by N.) from Newbury
containing, with the tything of Westbrook, 563 inhabitants.
The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry
of Berks, and diocese of Salisbury, rated in the king's
books at £20, and in the patronage of Mr. and Mrs.
Wells. The church is dedicated to St. Andrew.
