BROUGHTON-ASTLEY, a parish in the hundred of GUTHLAXTON, county of LEICESTER, comprising the townships of Broughton-Astley, Prime-Thorp, and Sutton in the Elms, and containing 630 inhabitants, of which number, 210 are in the township of Broughton-Astley, 5 miles (N. by W.) from Lutterworth. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Leicester, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £26. 10. 5, and in the patronage of the Rev. John Liptrott. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
