BUCKNALL, a parish in the southern division of the wapentake of GARTREE, parts of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN 6-miles (W. by S.) from Horncastle, corir taining 241 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £9.11.103., and in the patronage of Lord Monsqn. The church is dedicated to St. Margaret. There is an endowment of about £5 per annum, the gift of an unknown individual, for the instruction of poor children, paid annually by the Governors of Christ's Hospital, as trustees.
