BURBAGE, a parish in the hundred of KINWARDSTONE, county of WILTS, 4 miles (E. by N.) from Pewsey, containing 1195 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean of Salisbury, rated in the king's books at £7. 3. If., and in the patronage of the Prebendary of Hurstborne and Burbage in the Cathedral Church of Salisbury. The church, dedicated to All Saints, has recently received an addition of. one hundred and twenty-eight sittings, one hundred and eight of which are free, the incorporated Society for the enlargement of churches and chapels having granted £40 for that purpose.
