BURTON-GOGGLES, a parish in the wapentake of
BELTISLOE, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN,
If mile (W.N.W.) from Corby, containing 245 inhabitants.
The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry
and diocese of Lincoln, rated in.the king's books at
£16. 12. 3., and in the patronage of the Crown. The
church is dedicated to St. Thomas a Becket. A charity
school has a small endowment arising from bequests
by John Speight, in 1734, and Catherine Chomeley, in
1773.
