BUTTERWICK, a chapelry in the parish of FOXHOLES, wapentake of DICKERING, East riding of the county of YORK, 10 miles (N. by W.) from Great DrifV field, containing 93 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of the East riding, and diocese of York, endowed with £ 1000 royal bountyj and £200 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of the Rector of Foxholes.
