BUTTSBURY, a parish in the hundred of CHELMSFORD,
county of ESSEX, 7 miles (S. W. byi S.) from
Chehnsford,  containing 522 inhabitants. The' living
is .a perpetual curacy, with the rectory of IngatestOne
annexed, in the archdeaconry of Essex, and diocese of
London, endowed with £200 royal bounty, and in the
patronage of the Rev. D. Lloyd. The church is dedicated
to St. Mary.
