CARLTON-le-MOORLANDS, a parish in the lower division of the wapentake of BOOTHBY-GRAFFO, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 10 miles (S.W. by W.) from Lincoln, containing 294 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, with that of Stapleford annexed, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £7. 0. 10., and in the patronage of Lord Middleton. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. There is a place of worship for Particular Baptists. The parish is bounded on the east by the river Brant, and on the west by the Witham.
