CHATTISHAM, a parish in the hundred of SAMFORD, county of SUFFOLK, 4 miles (E. by S.) from Hadleigh, containing 231 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £4. 13, 4., endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Provost and Fellows of Eton College. The church is dedicated to All Saints and St. Margaret. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. Here is a school with a small endowment for teaching six boys.
