CHELSHAM, a chapelry in the parish of WARLINGHAM, second division of the hundred of TANDRIDGE, county of SURREY, 7 miles (S. E.) from Croydon, containing 237 inhabitants. The chapel, dedicated to St. Leonard, is in the early style of English architecture. On Bottle hill, in this neighbourhood, are the remains of a Roman camp, of an oblong form, and surrounded by a single trench.
