CHESELBORNE, a parish in the hundred of
WHITEWAY, Cerne subdivision of the county of DORSET,
lOf miles (S. W. by W.) from Blandford-Forum, containing
336 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the
archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, rated in
the king's books at £18. 10. 5., and in the patronage of
Lord Rivers. In the churchyard is an ancient stone
cross.
