CHIDDINGFOLD, a parish in the second division of the hundred of GODALMING, county of SURREY, 4 miles (E. N. E.) from Haslemere, containing 999 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, with the perpetual curacy of Haslemere annexed, in the archdeaconry of Surrey, and diocese of Winchester, rated in the king's books at £26. 4. 7-, and in the patronage of the Dean of Salisbury. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, is in the early style of English architecture, with some later additions.
