CHILCOTE, a chapelry in that part of the parish of BURTON upon TRENT which is in the hundred of REPTON-and-GRESLEY, county of DERBY, 6 miles (S. W. by W.) from Ashby de la Zouch, containing 192 inhabitants. The chapelry is annexed to the rectory of Clifton-Campville, in the archdeaconry of Stafford, and diocese of Lichfield and Coventry. Chilcote is in the honour of Tutbury, duchy of Lancaster, and within the jurisdiction of a court of pleas held at Tutbury every third Tuesday, for the recovery of debts under 40s.
