CLIFFORD-CHAMBERS, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of TEWKESBURY, though locally in that of the hundred of Kiftsgate, county of GLOUCESTER, 2 miles (S. by W.) from Stratford upon Avon, containing 305 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Gloucester, rated in the king's books at £ 18.15. 7., and in the patronage of L. Dighton, Esq. The church, dedicated to St. Helen, is a small structure, with a south door of Norman architecture.
