DORCHESTER, county of OXFORD, 3 miles (B. S.E.).
from Abingdon, containing 277 inhabitants. The living
is a perpetual curacy, in the jurisdiction of the peculiar
court of Dorchester, endowed with £666 private benefaction,
£200 royal bounty, and £2100 parliamentary
grant, and in the patronage of Miss Noyes. The church
is dedicated to St. Michael.
