COLVESTON, a parish in the hundred of GRIMSHOE,
county of NORFOLK, 6 miles (N. by E.) from
Brandon, containing 42 inhabitants. The living is a
discharged rectory, consolidated with the vicarage of
Didlington, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese
of Norwich. The church, which was dedicated to
St. Mary, and dependent on the church of St. Bartholomew
at Ickburgh, has been, with the village, long since
demolished.
