COTTON, or COTTAM, a chapelry in the parish of
LANGTOFT, partly within the liberty of ST-PETER-of-YORK,
and partly in the wapentake of DICKERING, East
riding of the county of YORK, 5 miles (N.N.W.).from
Great Driffield, containing 16 inhabitants. The living
is a perpetual curacy, in the peculiar jurisdiction of
the Prebendary of Langtoft in the Cathedral Church
of York, and in the patronage of the Vicar of Langtoft.
