CRANHAM, a parish in the hundred of CHAFFORD, county of ESSEX, 2 miles (E. S. E.) from Hornchurch, containing 289 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Essex, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £13. 13. 4., and in the patronage of the President and Fellows of St. John's College, Oxford. The church is dedicated to All Saints. This parish was formerly known by the names of Bishop's Ockingdon and Cravenham.
