CROWAN, a parish in the hundred of PENWITH, county of CORNWALL, 6 miles (N. by W.) from Helston, containing 3973 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Cornwall, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £11. Q. 2., and in the patronage of Sir J. St. Aubyn, Bart. The church is dedicated to St. Crewenne. A charity school was founded, in 1730, by the family of St.Aubyn, and endowed with the interest of £100.
