DODDINGTON; a parish in the hundred of TEYNHAM, lathe of SCRAY, county of KENT, 4 miles (S. by E.) from SittingbQurne, containing 451 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Canterbury, rated in the king's books at £6. 13. 4., endowed with £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Archdeacon of Canterbury. The church, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, is principally in the early style of English architecture. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
