DORNEY, a parish in the hundred of BURNHAM, county of BUCKINGHAM, 2 miles (W. N.W.) from Eton, containing 279 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Buckingham, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £8. 10. 5, endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Sir Charles Harcourt Palmer, Bart. The church, dedicated to St. James, has a handsome tower. The parish is bounded on the west and south by the Thames.
