DORTON, a parish in the hundred of ASHENDON, county of BUCKINGHAM, 8 miles (N.N.W.) from Thame, containing 133 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy in the archdeaconry of Buckingham, and diocese of Lincoln, endowed with £ 8 per annum private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Dean and Canons of Christ Church, Oxford. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
