ECCLESTON, a township in the parish of PRESCOT,
hundred of WEST-DERBY, county palatine of LANCASTER,
2 miles (N. N.E.) from Prescot, containing 1931 inhabitants.
The manufacture of crown glass and earthenware
is considerable; and in the neighbourhood are
stone quarries and mines of coal.
