EBINGWORTH, a hamlet partly in the parish of
EAST-BRENT, and partly in the parish of LYMPSHAM,
hundred of BRENT-with-WRINGTON, county of SOMERSET,
5 miles (W. by S.) from Axbridge. The population
is returned with the respective parishes. Here was
formerly an alien priory of Benedictine monks, a cell to
the abbey of St. Sever, in Normandy, which was granted
in the 7th of Edward IV. to Eton College.
