ETCHINGHAM, a parish in the hundred of HENHURST, rape of HASTINGS, county of SUSSEX, & miles (S.E.) from Wadhurst, containing 625 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Lewes, and diocese of Chichester, rated in the king's books at £11. Mrs. A. Lade was patroness in 1792. The church is partly in the decorated and partly in the later English style, with a central tower.
