EXBOURNE, a parish in the hundred of BLACK-TORRINGTON,
county of DEVON, 4 miles (E. by s.)
from Hatherleigh, containing ,M)3 inhabitants. The
living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Totness,
and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's hooks at
£7. II. 8. The Rev. F. Belik-ld was patron in 1793.
The church is dedicated to St. Mary. A fair for cattle
and pedlary is held annually on the third Monday in
April.
