EYDON, a parish in the hundred of CHIPPING-WARDEN,
county of NORTHAMPTON, 9 miles (S. by W.)
from Daventry, containing 548 inhabitants. The living
is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and
diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at
£16. 16. 3., and in the patronage of the Crown. The
church, which is dedicated to St. Nicholas, has lately received
an addition of ninety-seven sittings, of which
seventy are free, the Incorporated Society for the enlargement
of churches and chapels having granted
£45 towards defraying the expense.
