FAIRFIELD, a hamlet in the parish of ASHTON
under LINE, hundred of SALFORD, county palatine of
LANCASTER, 3 miles (E. by S.) from Manchester. , The
population is returned with the parish. The Moravians
have an establishment here; the ground plot forms a
spacious square area, the houses in which are neatly
built of brick: there is also a chapel with a burialground.
