FLECKNEY, a parish in the hundred of GARTREE,
county of LEICESTER, 7 miles (N.W. by W.) from Market-
Harborough, containing 450 inhabitants. The living
is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Leicester,
and diocese of Lincoln, and in the patronage of Lady
Byron. The church is dedicated to St. Nicholas. The
Union canal runs through the eastern part of this
parish.
