FOLKINGTON, a parish in the hundred of LONGBRIDGE, rape of PEVENSEY, county of SUSSEX, 4 miles (S.W. by S.) from Haylsham, containing 186 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Lewes, and diocese of Chichester, rated in the king's books at £ 12, and-in the joint patronage of the Earl of Plymouth and Earl Delawarr. The church, dedicated to St. Peter, is in the early style of English architecture, with later insertions.
