GARSTON (EAST), a parish situated partly in the hundred of WANTAGE, partly in the hundred of MORETON, but chiefly in the hundred of LAMBOURN, county of BERKS, 2 miles (E. S. E.) from Lambourn, containing 637 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, hi the archdeaconry of Berks, and diocese of Salisbury, rated in the king's books at £13. 6. 8., and in the pa tronage of the Dean and Canons of Christ Church, Oxford. The church is dedicated to All Saints. Here is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. There is a small sum for the education of children.
