GOYTREY, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of ABERGAVENNY, county of MONMOUTH, 5 miles (N.N.W.) from Usk, containing 513 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Llandaff, rated in the king's books at £4.7. 6., and in the patronage of the Earl of Aberga- venny. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. The parish is bounded on the north-east by the river Usk, and the Brecon and Abergavenny canal passes through it.
