GRAINTHORPE, a parish in the Marsh division
of the hundred of LOUTH-ESKE, parts of LINDSEY,
county of LINCOLN, 8 miles (N. E. by N.) from Louth,
containing, with the hamlets of Ludney and Wragholme,
503 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in
the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, endowed with
£200 private benefaction, £400 royal- bounty, and
£1000 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of
the President and Fellows of Magdalene College, Cambridge.
The church is dedicated to St. Clement.
