GRAMPOUND, or GRAND-FONT, a tything in that part of the parish of ST-ALDATES, OXFORD, which is in the hundred of HORMER, county of BERKS. The population is returned with the parish. In the time of Edward I., the Crouched friars had a house here, given them by Richard Cary, sometime mayor of Oxford, which, about 1348, they left, for a house and chapel near the church of St. Peter's in the East.
