GUESTLING, a parish in the hundred of GUESTLING, rape of HASTINGS, county of SUSSEX, 3 miles (W. S. W.) from WinchelSea, containing 697 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Lewes, and diocese of Chichester, rated in the king's books at £12. 0. 7., and in the patronage of SirW. Ashburnham, Bart. The church, dedicated to St. Andrew, is mostly in the later style of English architecture. Robert Bradshaw, in 1734, bequeathed £500 for the education of twenty children, which sum having been Suffered to accumulate, now produces an annual income of £30 to the schoolmaster. The parish is bounded on the south by Brede channel.
