GUMLEY, a parish in the hundred of GARTREE,
county of LEICESTER, 4 miles (N. W. by W.) from
Market-Harborough, containing 289 inhabitants. The
living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Leicester, and
diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £16. 2. 6.
and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln.
The church is dedicated to St. Helen. There is
a chalybeate spring in the parish.
