HADDENHAM, a parish in the hundred of AYLESBURY, county of BUCKINGHAM, 3 miles (N. E. by E,) from Thame, containing 1294 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, with the perpetual curacy of Cuddington annexed, in the archdeaconry of Buckingham, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £15.17.1., and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Rochester. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. There is. a place of worship for Baptists. In 1294, the monks of the convent of St. Andrew, at Rochester, obtained a charter for a weekly market to be held here on Thursday, which was discontinued in 1301: a fair was also granted for three days, at the festival of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. There are two mineral springs in the parish.
