HALLAM (KIRK), a parish partly in the hundred
of APPLETREE, and partly in the hundred of MORLESTON-and-LITCHURCH,
county of DERBY, 8 miles (E.N.E.) from Derby, containing,
with the township of Mapperley, which is in the hundred of Appletree,
433 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in
the archdeaconry of Derby, and diocese of Lichfield and
Coventry, rated in the king's books at £4. 9.7., endowed
with £600 royal bounty, and in the patronage of
the Duke of Rutland. The church, which is dedicated
to All SaintSj is in the hundred of Morleston and
Litchurch.
