HAMBLETON, a chapelry in the parish of KIRKHAM, hundred of AMOUNDERNESS, county palatine of LANCASTER, 2 miles (N.E.) from Poulton, containing 338 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Richmond, and diocese of Chester, endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Vicar of Kirkham. Eight children are educated for a trifling sum, the bequest of Matthew Lewtas, in 1791.
